Brendon Barrie McCullum, wicket-keeper, as well as an aggressive batsman who opens in One-day Internationals and is known for his fast scoring rate. His brother Nathan McCullum is also a first-class cricketer at provincial level, and their father Stu McCullum was a long-serving first-class player for Otago. McCullum also plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He scored 158 not out in the inaugural match of the competition on 18 April 2008.

He played for Canterbury early in his career and debuted in First Class and "List A" cricket for them. Cumming has played for South Canterbury in the Hawke Cup. On 5 March 2005, he was the recipient of Brett Lee's fastest ever recorded delivery: 160.8 km/hour (99.9 mph) at Napier.

Daniel Luca Vettori, is a cricketer for the New Zealand cricket team. He is the eighth player in Test history to take 300 wickets and score 3,000 runs. He is the youngest player to have represented New Zealand in Test cricket, having made his debut in 1996–97 at the age of 18, and New Zealand's most-capped test cricketer with 112 caps. Vettori is a bowling all-rounder who bowls slow left-arm orthodox spin; he is known for his accuracy, flight and guile rather than prodigious turn. He has a Test batting average of around 30 making him one of the more consistent and better batsmen in the New Zealand cricket team. In the fourth season of Indian Premier League, he was contracted by Royal Challengers Bangalore for US$550,000.

Daniel Raymond Flynn (born 16 April 1985 in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for the Northern Districts and has represented the New Zealand international side in the past. He has captained the New Zealand Under-19 side in Youth ODIs. On 6 February 2008 it was announced that Flynn would take the place of the injured Jacob Oram for the second international Twenty20 against England, having impressed on 30 January, hitting 149 in a domestic match. New Zealand fell to a second defeat in the Twenty20 series, however, with Flynn surviving only two deliveries, making one run, before being dismissed by Graeme Swann. He then replaced an out-of-form Peter Fulton for the final One Day International on 23 February 2008 Flynn then accompanied the New Zealand team to England and, on 15 May 2008 made his test debut.

Dean Graham Brownlie (born 30 July 1984) is an Australian-born cricketer currently playing for the Canterbury cricket team in New Zealand domestic cricket. After playing several matches for the New Zealand A, he made his Test debut for the national team against Zimbabwe in November 2011 after an injury to Jesse Ryder, qualifying to represent New Zealand by way of his father, who was born in Christchurch. Brownlie scored 63 in his first innings on debut, and also took one wicket bowling medium pace in Zimbabwe's first innings. He then played in the Australian test series and was New Zealand's best batter, with scoring 77 unbeaten in Brisbane.
